23 out of the 28 provinces of Malawi have been designated disaster ares.

The Community which we are working with due to severe drought, as well as the area to the South, because of flooding. It is highly likely that there will be a high level of malnutrition within the Community as well as hunger related deaths amongst the vulnerable.

There is also the knock on effect that there will not be enough funds to purchase seed and fertiliser for the 2024/2025 growing season.

The drought conditions have created a serious humanitarian crisis and the Community will go hungry to the extent that they will suffer from the effects of malnutrition with some of the young and elderly dying this year and will have a shortage of funds to finance next years crop.
